It's Almost Vacation Time!

It's FINALLY Friday! WOOHOO! We just got the official announcement that we are closing at 2pm. I will be knocking my coworkers out of the way to get out the door. LOL! I'm going to run some errands, go to the library, then chill on the couch before heading out for a Christmas gathering at 7pm. FUN TIMES!

And I don't have to return until 2007. SO stoked!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Is It Friday Yet?

I have some SERIOUS motivation problems right now. I have NO desire to be at work...and I have NO desire or motivation to do any work while I'm here. Sigh. Is it Friday yet? Eileen says we will probably close early tomorrow, and I hope it's not just 4pm or something. I hope it's 2pm. Or 10am. LOL! Or now...

We had our white elephant gift exchange today and lunch from Sal's. Yum. Very fun, but now we are all less motivated. AND...we are waiting to hear whether we will be receiving a bonus or not. I know we will get profit sharing (love it), but some cash now would be nice.

Oy.

I'm just so excited about Christmas! Susan and the fam will be arriving around 11pm on Saturday night and get to see them on Sunday. Yippee! I haven't seen them in four months. I can't wait to hug Ian and Cameron!!!

OK. Seriously. Is it Friday yet?!?!? I'm on vacation all of next week. That is gonna be nice...

iTunes

I love my iTunes. Of course, the main reason is because it is linked to my iPod. Oh, my iPod. Love it. Anyhew, iTunes is great. It's WAY too easy to download music (I haven't gone too crazy with it), but there is another great feature...

The podcasts. The free podcasts that automatically download to my iTunes once I've subscribed to them.

So, I think I might be addicted to podcasts. I started downloading a few of them, and then I downloaded a few more. Well...I might be subscribed to quite a few now. :) The official Grey's Anatomy and Lost podcasts are my favorites. Both are hosted by writers and producers of the shows, and they discuss the most recent episodes. It's nice to hear that the writers are just as addicted to these great shows as the viewers are!

Then my church started offering the Sunday messages on podcasts. Each week, it just shows up in my iTunes. When I started planning my trip to Dublin, I decided to see if any travel podcasts were available. I found some great ones: Rick Steves, Lonely Planet and the Travel Channel...and Live Ireland :)

There are so many more out there! So many topics: health, literature, news, music, comedy...I wonder which one I'll download next!

Ten Things About Me!

Rules: So the point of this game is you post a blog about ten weird habits/random facts about yourself, and then "tag" ten people who then have to post a blog about their ten weird habits/random facts. Laurie tagged me a couple weeks ago...I'm FINALLY doing this!!! :)

(1) I want to be a voice in an animated movie. And I wouldn't mind doing the reading for an audio book. hee hee.

(2) When I was young, I thought I would be a teacher when I grew up. Apparently, I forgot about that when I went to college. Oops.

(3) I LOVE The Muppet Show...still. :)

(4) I skipped kindergarten.

(5) My favorite condiment is barbeque sauce. I would pretty much eat it on anything if it would taste yummy!

(6) I've been cross-stitching since I was very young...5 years old or something like that.

(7) I played the flute from 6th-12th grade, and I was in marching band in high school. My last two years in marching band, I played the Baritone. I hated it!!

(8) I don't like to open packages like Crescent rolls...the 'popping' sound it makes when you press on the package after you've ripped off the label...yeah, that freaks me out...A LOT!!!!!!!!! I have to hold it way out in front of me and push it down with a spoon.

(9) I don't eat syrup on waffles or pancakes. Just butter. YUM!!!

(10) Some of my guilty pleasure bands/singers: Boston, Neil Diamond & Barry Manilow. I love these people!!!

I tag Ellen, Kellybug & Charlotte to do this next!!

Did Jen Disappear?

I really didn't disappear! Why didn't I blog for a month? I'm a slacker, basically. :)

What have I been up to? November seemed to just FLY by........

The most exciting event, of course, was my solo journey to Dublin, Ireland. I had a fantastic week. I met so many nice people and saw amazing things! I took a day trip to County Wicklow and loved the countryside. So beautiful!! I toured the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Zoo, went to a comedy club, took a musical pub crawl and learned all about traditional Irish music from two musicians, toured Kilmainham Gaol, walked miles & miles seeing the beautiful city....and I know it surprises you to hear that I talked to LOTS of locals. hee hee! The trip was very empowering for me. It was nice to get away from 'life' for awhile and be alone with my thoughts...in one of my favorite places on earth. I recommend trying a trip alone...I didn't know whether I could do it until I tried. And it was incredible. I might have to do it again...sooner than later!

I MIGHT have taken 280 pictures on my trip. hee hee. I'm working on naming them and getting them ready for viewing on Shutterfly. AND...I have to decide which ones to order for scrapbooking! I'm attending a 12-hour crop on Saturday, December 30 and I want to work on my Dublin trip that day! FUN!

I also read two Jodi Picoult books while I was there (the very long plane rides assisted in this endeavor): Perfect Match and Picture Perfect. I really liked Perfect Match a lot, but Picture Perfect was not a fave. I'm still glad I read it because I want to read all of Jodi's books, but this is not on my top list.

I had book club at my house last Wednesday. We read Under The Banner Of Heaven by Jon Krakauer. Thanks for such a great suggestion Cindy! Everyone loved the book and I think we were stunned to find out JUST how 'out there' some of the Mormon beliefs are. I highly recommend you read this!!

Cookies. Yum. I participated in my first of two cookie exchanges yesterday. We shared our cookies and played Life. I hadn't played in YEARS! So much fun! I served a bunch of cookies at bible study last night and they were quite the hit! Tasty, tasty treats!!

I can't believe Christmas is in a few weeks! I get to see Susan, James, Ian and Cameron in 19 days! I truly can't wait. It will have been 4 months since I've seen them! I miss them so much! I'm really excited about being off the week between Christmas and New Year's when they are home. I'm looking forward to spending some time relaxing at home and spending quality time with my family. I think I've developed a new appreciation for the important people in my life...my time in Dublin did me A LOT of good. :)

OK. I think that's all for now. I'm going to make it a goal to blog AT LEAST once a week from now on! It's way too hard remembering what's happened in a month's time. :)
